Few points to be understand
It would be my pleasure to help you but before going ahead, I would like to give you some tips to ensure proper and effective communication. Just as you choose a designer, I also choose my clients, and work for the clients who value my services and understand my work style.Quality doesn’t come cheaply or quickly.
Please keep in mind that quality takes time and money. Quality doesn’t come cheaply or quickly and it doesn’t sound practical to expect high quality results at low price. Gold is gold and copper is copper, both have different characteristics and hence has different price. A design is not just a combination of graphics, shapes and colors. Very easily it may become more than a project which solve your purpose thus needs thorough research and efforts.
You may get a rushed design in couple of hours but wait, first ask a questions to yourself – “Does it solves your purpose?”, “Will it work?”. If you want a solid and well researched logo or a design solution then you should wait for it. Usually major design agencies present their ideas in 2-6 months and if you would expect results in one week or two week then whole design process would suffer and the end result would be affected. The very old saying is applicable here “you get what you pay for” and that is so true with logo and identity design.
Clearly specify your budget.
Budget is a very important factor which affects overall project’s quality. By knowing budget up front, I can decide the amount of work and time I would be spending for the project. It gives a clear indication about client’s need and expectations. So, always specify budget in advance to ensure my services for your project.
Do understand that initial deposit is necessary.
I charge 50% deposit upfront before start working on any project. It ensures that client and designer both are serious about the project and thus increase the quality of end result. I charge via PayPal and after getting final approval, I send another invoice for remaining 50%. After receiving total amount I provide design in most common file formats for better use.
Keep enough flexibility for deadlines.
A project soon becomes more then an idea and may require an additional research and work. For this additional time is needed and it may delay the deadlines. I can give you an estimated time but it may vary upon complexity of the project. Each project is unique and thus requires a specific amount of research, brainstorming and execution which directly affect the project duration and budget. So allow enough flexibility in deadlines for necesary work.
Excess revision really spoils the idea.
Excess revisions really spoil the overall idea and I really hate it. There are many firms who provide 5 revisions at $50 or unlimited revision but I don’t agree with them. I present my ideas to the client only after thorough research. and hence I don’t work on revision basis because it gives me impression that the work provided by designer is wrong and need to be corrected. If any there is any change which is necessary then I’ve no problem until it fits in my time quota. Revisions after a certain limit need an additional work, which may result an increase in the initial budget in the form of additional costs.
Do have an idea about my work style.
Before hiring me I would suggest you to know more about me. Just go through my previous portfolios, blogs, submissions, featured logos, designs, posts etc. You’ll get a clear idea about my work style and it will build a trust between you and me which is a essential for the success of a project.
Do let me know how you know me.
Have someone referred you about me? Or my any past client suggested you my name? Referred by some friends, business partners, other designers etc? Mentioning the way how you know me would give an impression me that you are seriously interested in me and my work style.
